Double-elimination format--teams may only play 2 matches

Double-final ("IF" game) required if loser bracket team wins finals...one 25-point set.

Seeding:  formula based on previous year's Qualifier finish in next-younger age groups.  (it's not perfect, but it has statistical accuracy.)

Note to players, coaches & familes:  Our double-elimination format is designed to give a team the opportunity to have a bad match, then come back through the loser's bracket & win.  It also corrects any seeding errors, since many teams in our Region have not played each other.  Unfortunately, it also makes for a very long day in the gym for the final four teams.  We have scheduled breaks in the day to allow teams time to rest, rehydrate & fuel up, but be prepared (and patient.)

Winning teams in each age division to receive regional bids to National division of JOVC.  Teams entering the Bid Qualifier must also submit $900 check payable to "USA JOVC" and are committing to compete at the 2020 JOVC in Reno,NV.  Winning teams, their clubs and all club personnel who subsequently fail to participate at the JOVC are subject to sanctions from USA Volleyball and the Delta Region.  Un-cashed checks will be returned to teams who do not win the Bid Qualifier. Teams must also fulfill officiating responsibilities for this event or be subject to Delta Region sanctions.  This is a DOUBLE-ELIMINATION EVENT, so some teams will only play two matches.  Players may only appear on one roster.

As a reminder, winning teams must complete their on-line AES entry immediately.  Results reporting must be completed on-line by May 7.  Rosters may be changed on-line until May 23.  Advanced Event Systems

The first place team in each division will receive the Delta Region automatic bid to the JOVC.  There are no bids awarded or anticipated for second-place, but if the 1st-place finisher later qualifies at a National Qualifier, the regional bid would "trickle-down" to the 2nd-place finisher.  Teams who have already earned a bid to the JOVC at a national qualifier may not participate in the Delta Bid Qualifier.  Players may only play on one team at the Bid Qualifier.  Players who competed on a team at a Naitonal Qualifier and won a bid to the JOVC are a part of a "frozen roster" and may not participate on any other team.

COACHES:  if you plan to let one of your younger athletes play "up" at a National Qualifier and that team ends up qualifying for the JOVC (Open, National or American) that player cannot then return to her usual team & help another team qualify for the JOVC--either at another National Qualifier or the Delta Region Bid Qualifier.
