Delta Region Update
1) BID QUALIFIER ENTRIES must be RECEIVED in the Delta Region office no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2005. A properly completed entry will include:
- Delta Region Bid Qualifier entry form with roster and $150 fee payable to Delta Region. Multiple entries may be submitted with one club’s check.
- $900 check payable to USA Volleyball Championships with team name and age group printed on the check. Separate checks are required for each team. Checks will be returned un-cashed if the team does not win its age group.
Teams entering the Bid Qualifier are committing to competing at the US JOVC in Atlanta if they win. Multi-season penalties may be assessed if teams drop out.
IMPACT-certified coaches are required to be on the bench at the Bid Qualifier. R1’s will be provided, but teams must provide a CERTIFIED R2 and scorekeeper or pay an additional $25 per match per official or scorekeeper needed. Please advise the Region office in advance if you are unable to get individuals certified so they can be hired for this event. (As usual, teams will supply linespersons, asst scorekeeper and score operator.)
2) HIGH-PERFORMANCE TRYOUTS for girls born on/after January 1, 1992 continue at Springdale March 10 in the All-Star Sports Arena 6:30-9:00. 36 players will be selected for the USA Select Division/HP Camp being held at Lyon College over the Memorial Day weekend. Information on the camp is available on the Region web site.
The 2006 Delta Region HP program has been adapted to the changes in the national HP program format and a desire by club directors, coaches and parents to limit the costs and time commitment of the regional HP program. These changes have been met with a good response from across the Region. Tryouts will also be held at Little Rock-March 17, Memphis-March 24 and Jonesboro-April 9.
